A roasted mastigure was brought to the Prophet (peace be upon him) who stretched his hand towards it to eat. But it was said to him, “It is a mastigure.” So he withdrew his hand. Khalid asked, “Is it unlawful to eat?” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “No, but it is not found in the land of my people and that is why I do not like eating it.” So Khalid started eating it while Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) was looking at him.

He came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said, “O Allah’s Messenger! I have lost my eyesight and I lead my people in prayer. When it rains, the valley between me and them flows with water, and I cannot reach their mosque. I wish that you could come and pray in my house so that I may take it as a praying place.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Allah willing, I will do that.” The next morning, the Prophet (peace be upon him) came with Abu Bakr. He entered the house and asked, “Where do you like me to pray?” I pointed to a place, and he stood and prayed two rak`at. We then served him Khazira that we had prepared. Many men gathered in the house. One said, “Where is Malik bin Ad-Dukhshun?” Another said, “He is a hypocrite.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Do not say so. Do you not think that he has said: ‘None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,’ seeking Allah’s pleasure?” The man said, “We have seen him mix with the hypocrites.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Allah has forbidden the Fire for those who testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, seeking Allah’s pleasure.”
