Chapter 8: The Characteristics of Paradise and the Fact That It Has Already Been Created
Sahih al-Bukhari 3240
Narrated Abdullah bin
Umar The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“When any one of you dies, he is shown his place (in the Hereafter) every morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, then he is shown his place in Paradise, and if he is among the people of Hell, then he is shown his place in Hell.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 3241
Narrated `Imran bin Husain: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“I looked into Paradise and found that the majority of its people were the poor; and I looked into the Fire and saw that the majority of its dwellers were women.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 3242
Narrated Abu Huraira: While we were with the Prophet (peace be upon him), he said:
“While I was asleep, I saw myself in Paradise, and there I saw a woman performing ablution beside a palace. I asked, ‘To whom does this palace belong?’ They said, ‘To
Umar bin Al-Khattab.' Then I remembered
Umar’s sense of protective jealousy, and I quickly turned away.”
When `Umar heard this, he wept and said, “O Messenger of Allah, would I feel jealous about you?”
Sahih al-Bukhari 3243
Narrated Abdullah bin Qais Al-Ash
ari: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“A tent (in Paradise) is like a hollow pearl, thirty miles high; in every corner of it the believer will have a family who cannot be seen by the others.”
(In another narration, Abu `Imran said: “The tent is sixty miles high.”)
Sahih al-Bukhari 3244
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“Allah said: ‘I have prepared for My righteous servants what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has ever imagined.’ If you wish, recite the verse:
‘No soul knows what joy is kept hidden for them as a reward for what they used to do.’“
(Surah As-Sajda 32:17)
Sahih al-Bukhari 3245
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“The first group to enter Paradise will be as bright as the full moon. They will not spit, blow their noses, or relieve themselves. Their utensils will be of gold, and their combs will be of gold and silver. Their incense burners will burn aloe wood, and their sweat will be like musk. Every one of them will have two wives, and the marrow of the bones of their wives’ legs will be visible through the flesh due to their extreme beauty. They will have no disagreements or hatred among themselves. Their hearts will be as one, and they will glorify Allah morning and evening.”
Hadith 3246
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“The first batch of people who will enter Paradise will be as bright as the full moon. Those who follow them will be as bright as the most shining star. Their hearts will be like the heart of a single man, for there will be no enmity or hatred among them.
Every one of them will have two wives, and the marrow of the bones of their legs will be visible through their flesh due to their beauty. They will glorify Allah in the morning and the evening.
They will never fall ill, nor blow their noses, nor spit. Their utensils will be of gold and silver, and their combs will be of gold. The incense used in their censers will be aloeswood, and their sweat will be like musk.”
Hadith 3247
Narrated Sahl bin Sa’d: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Verily! Seventy thousand—or seven hundred thousand—of my followers will enter Paradise all together. The first and the last of them will enter at the same time, and their faces will be glittering like the full moon.”
Hadith 3248
Narrated Anas bin Malik: A silken cloak was presented to the Prophet (peace be upon him), and he used to forbid the usage of silk (for men). When the people admired the cloak, he said:
“By Allah, in Whose Hands is the life of Muhammad, the handkerchiefs of Sa’d bin Mu’adh in Paradise are better than this.”
Hadith 3249
Narrated Al-Bara bin Azib: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was given a silken garment, and the people admired its beauty and softness. He said:
“The handkerchiefs of Sa’d bin Mu’adh in Paradise are better than this.”
Hadith 3250
Narrated Sahl bin Sa’d Al-Saidi: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
“A place in Paradise the size of a whip (lash) is better than the world and everything in it.”

Hadith 3254

“The people of Paradise will look at those dwelling in lofty mansions above them as one looks at a brilliant star far away in the east or west horizon, because of the difference in ranks between them.”
The people asked, “O Messenger of Allah, are these lofty places only for the prophets, which no one else can reach?”
He replied, “No, by Allah in Whose Hand is my soul, they are for men who believed in Allah and believed in the messengers.”
