Sahih Al Bukhari Hadith Number 3326-3341

Volume 4,  Book 60- Prophets

Chapter:1 The Creation of Adam and His Offspring

Hadith 3326

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Allah created Adam, making him sixty cubits tall. When He created him, He said to him,
‘Go and greet that group of angels and listen to what they will say in reply, for it will be your greeting and the greeting of your offspring.’
So, Adam said to the angels, ‘As-Salamu Alaikum’ (Peace be upon you).
They replied, ‘As-Salamu Alaika wa Rahmatullah’ (Peace and Allah’s Mercy be upon you).
So, they added ‘wa Rahmatullah’ to his greeting.

Every person who enters Paradise will resemble Adam in appearance. People have been decreasing in stature since the creation of Adam.

Hadith 3327

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
“The first group of people who will enter Paradise will be glittering like the full moon.
Those who follow them will shine like the most brilliant star in the sky.

They will neither urinate, defecate, spit, nor have any nasal secretions.
Their combs will be of gold, and their sweat will smell like musk.
Aloes-wood (oud) will be used in their incense burners.
Their wives will be the houris (pure companions), and all of them will resemble one another.

They will look like their father Adam, sixty cubits tall in the sky.

Here is a clear and respectful English rendering of Sahih al-Bukhari Hadiths 3328–3330, from Book 60, The Beginning of Creation, with all Arabic removed and consistently using “peace be upon him” for the Prophet ﷺ:

Hadith 3328

Narrated Zainab bint Abi Salama: Umm Salama said:

“Umm Sulaim asked,
‘O Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him)! Allah does not refrain from speaking the truth—so is it obligatory for a woman to take a bath if she experiences a wet dream (nocturnal discharge)?’

The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: Yes, if she notices the discharge.’

Umm Salama laughed and said: Does a woman have such a discharge?’

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘Then how does the child resemble the mother?’

Hadith 3329

Narrated Anas: When `Abdullah bin Salam heard of the arrival of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in Medina, he came to him and said: “I am going to ask you about three things that only a prophet can know: What is the first sign of the Hour (Day of Judgment)? What will be the first meal of the people of Paradise? Why does a child resemble his father or his maternal uncle?”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Just now Gabriel informed me of their answers.”

Abdullah said, “Gabriel is the enemy of the Jews among the angels.”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: “The first sign of the Hour will be a fire that gathers the people from the east to the west. The first meal of the people of Paradise will be the extra lobe (caudate lobe) of the fish liver.

As for the resemblance in children: If the man’s discharge comes first, the child will resemble the father. If the woman’s discharge comes first, the child will resemble her.”

Then `Abdullah bin Salam said: I testify that you are the Messenger of Allah.”

He added: “O Messenger of Allah, the Jews are liars. If they know that I have accepted Islam before you ask them about me, they will lie about me.”

Then the Jews came, and `Abdullah went inside the house.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked them: “What kind of man is `Abdullah bin Salam among you?”

They replied: “He is our most knowledgeable and the son of the most knowledgeable among us, our best and the son of the best.”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: “What if he becomes a Muslim?”

They said: “May Allah protect him from that!”

Then `Abdullah came out and said: “I testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

At that, they said: “He is the worst among us, and the son of the worst,”
and began speaking badly about him.

Hadith 3330

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“If it were not for the Children of Israel, meat would not decay.
And if it were not for Eve, no woman would ever betray her husband.”

Hadith 3331

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Treat women kindly, for a woman was created from a rib, and the most curved part of the rib is its upper portion. If you try to straighten it, you will break it, and if you leave it as it is, it will remain crooked. So treat women kindly.”

Hadith 3332

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the true and truly inspired, said: “Each one of you is collected in the womb of his mother for forty days as a drop, then he becomes a clot for another forty days, and then a piece of flesh for another forty days. Then Allah sends an angel who is commanded to write four things: his deeds, his time of death, his livelihood, and whether he will be wretched or blessed. Then the soul is breathed into him. A person may do the deeds of the people of Hellfire until there is only a cubit between him and it, but what is written overtakes him, and he begins to do the deeds of the people of Paradise and enters it. Likewise, a person may do the deeds of the people of Paradise until there is only a cubit between him and it, but what is written overtakes him, and he begins to do the deeds of the people of Hellfire and enters it.”

Hadith 3333

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Allah appoints an angel in the womb, and the angel says, ‘O Lord! A drop (of discharge), O Lord! A clot, O Lord! A lump of flesh.’ Then if Allah wills to complete the child’s creation, the angel says, ‘O Lord! Will it be male or female? Wretched or blessed? What will be his livelihood? What will be his lifespan?’ All of this is written while the child is still in the womb of its mother.”

Hadith 3334

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Allah will say to that person of the Hellfire who will receive the least punishment, ‘If you had everything on earth, would you give it as a ransom to free yourself?’ He will say, ‘Yes.’ Then Allah will say, ‘While you were in the backbone of Adam, I asked you much less than this—not to worship others besides Me—but you insisted on worshipping others besides Me.'”

Hadith 3335

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Whenever a person is murdered unjustly, a share from the burden of the crime will be upon the first son of Adam, for he was the first to initiate the tradition of murder.”

Chapter: 2 Souls are like recruited troops

Hadith 3336

Aishah said: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say, “Souls are like recruited troops: those who are similar in qualities are inclined to each other, but those who differ in qualities will be at odds.”

Chapter: 3 The Statement of Allah Aza Wajal: “And indeed We sent Nuh to his people…”

Hadith 3337

Ibn Umar narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stood among the people, glorified and praised Allah as He deserved, and then mentioned the Dajjal. He said, “I warn you against him, and there was no prophet but warned his nation about him. Noah warned his nation about him, but I will tell you something about him that no other prophet told his nation: You should know that he is one-eyed, and Allah is not one-eyed.”

Hadith 3338

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Shall I not tell you about the Dajjal, a story of which no prophet told his nation? The Dajjal is one-eyed and will bring with him what will resemble Hell and Paradise, and what he will call Paradise will actually be Hell. So I warn you against him, just as Noah warned his nation.”

Hadith 3339

Narrated Abu Sa’id: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Noah and his nation will come on the Day of Resurrection and Allah will ask Noah, ‘Did you convey the message?’ He will reply, ‘Yes, O my Lord!’ Then Allah will ask Noah’s nation, ‘Did Noah convey My message to you?’ They will reply, ‘No, no prophet came to us.’ Then Allah will ask Noah, ‘Who will stand as a witness for you?’ He will reply, ‘Muhammad and his followers.’ So, I and my followers will stand as witnesses for him that he conveyed Allah’s message.” That is the interpretation of the verse: “Thus We have made you a just and the best nation that you might be witnesses over mankind…” (Qur’an 2:143)

Hadith 3340

Narrated Abu Huraira: We were in the company of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) at a banquet, and a cooked forearm (of mutton) was brought before him, which he liked. He ate from it and then said, “I will be the chief of all the people on the Day of Resurrection. Do you know how Allah will gather all the first and the last people in one level place, where an observer can see all of them and everyone can hear the announcer? The sun will come near to them. People will say: ‘Don’t you see the condition you’re in? Why don’t you seek someone to intercede for you with your Lord?’ Some will say, ‘Go to your father, Adam.’ They will go to Adam and say, ‘O Adam! You are the father of mankind. Allah created you with His Hand, ordered the angels to prostrate to you, and placed you in Paradise. Will you not intercede for us with your Lord?’ Adam will reply, ‘My Lord is so angry today as He has never been before and never will be again. He forbade me from the tree, but I disobeyed. Myself! Myself! Go to someone else. Go to Noah.’ They will go to Noah and say, ‘O Noah! You were the first messenger sent to the people of the earth, and Allah called you a thankful servant. Will you not intercede for us with your Lord?’ Noah will reply, ‘My Lord is so angry today as He has never been before and never will be again. Myself! Myself! Go to the Prophet Muhammad.’ Then they will come to me, and I will prostrate myself under Allah’s Throne. I will be told, ‘O Muhammad! Raise your head, intercede and it will be accepted, ask and you will be granted.'”

Hadith 3341

Narrated Abdullah: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) recited the verse, “Fahal-Min-Muddakir” (Qur’an 54:15), in the same tone as the common people do.
